I’m never surprised when the jerks show up. It’s not that think there are that many jerks in the world, it’s just that I think the default, easy route in life is the jerky one. Blame inertia. When bad things happen to good people, that’s what the universe feels like. A lot has been made about how it’s hard to imagine a good source for the universe when there is so much suffering… but one thing I find even more unimaginable; how can good happen if the source for the universe is evil or even neutral?
That’s all a fancy way of saying that my good audience has shown up once again. They come with generous eyes, and are generally good to the arts, to my person, and make it easier to create and produce. I mentioned last week that we might need to do a Kickstarter program just to do some basic coloring of Nnewts pages and out of the blue, a fan stepped up and foots the bill. I can’t name names, but I sure didn’t expect this kind of generosity from my audience. It’s the storyteller’s responsibility to do all of the work, not the audience.
So here’s to the good guys. I know you’re out there, and it’s my audience’s generosity that helps sustain me. Enjoy another page of Nnewts.
